Sara Wine, D.O., is a Board Certified Family Physician with extensive Functional and Holistic Medicine training. She graduated from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her Family Medicine residency at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City through Michigan State University. After practicing as a traditional Family Medicine physician and hospitalist for many years in northern Michigan and Indianapolis, Dr. Wine realized that her patients had tremendous success in healing from chronic disease with her knowledge learned in holistic medicine. In her journey after the birth of her special needs son, she discovered that Biomedical treatment helped him recover the most, which fueled her passion for training to become a Functional Medicine Physician. " Traditional medicine gave up on my son, and I knew there had to be more that could save him. I started trying to find answers to the root cause of his symptoms. Once I had those answers, his potential to heal and recover was limitless. This same approach that I have studied drives me to help my patients find the underlying causes of their symptoms and obtain optimal health." Eventually, Dr. Wine founded the Wine Holistic Health Center to bring Functional and Holistic Medicine to her patients.
